PHARES DATABASE

The surname list is a list of those names which appear in Richard L. Phares' database. Richard asks that you contact him to acquire the database. It will appear that you can access the surnames, but that is not the case.

The database is not intended to be a strict genealogical document. It is a collection of information gathered from many sources and no claims are made for its accuracy. Where errors are found in the normal course of entering the data they are corrected, if possible, when time permits. However, with such a large amount of information, it is impossible to systematically check the individual records. This database does give researchers a basis for their own investigation or verification of family history. It contains 17,804 records of descendants of John Phares I who died in Burlington County, New Jersey in 1736 including spouses and parents of spouses where known. This includes, among others, descendants of William Phares of New Jersey, Johnson Phares of Pendleton Co., VA (Now WV), Robert Phares of Randolph Co., WV, and Margaret Phares, daughter of John II.

This database is updated at regular intervals. In order to be eligible to receive these updated files you must submit or must have already submitted your family history data. You will not automatically receive these updates but must request them at the time of release. Release dates are the first of March, June, September and December. Please send your request along with your snail-mail address, on-line address and names and versions of your family history and word processor programs. If you have questions I will attempt to answer any queries.. If you are not on-line the file will be sent to you by snail-mail. If you are a descendant of anyone in this database or have any other data that can be added to it I would like to hear from you.
