Hi all. I am doing research on my Campbell, Stewart/Stuart, Floyd, Harrelson, Jeter, Wood, Huston/Houston, Israel families. I know - that is a lot to be doing all at the same time. But, I am 80-years and am retired and I have lots of time for my genealogy, which I very much enjoy.

I thank you for permitting us to post to your web site. I feel that it something like a huge Internet family reunion.....Marge

I have just started my research. My family now is in Philippi. My father was James Lloyd McDaniel, his brother (still living) is Robert Karl McDaniel. Their father was Coy McDaniel and mother Irma Moore McDaniel. I believe I have traced back the McDaniel line to Abraham McDaniel in Taylor County 1825-1905. His mother was Jane Ford 1801-1879. I believe I have traced Abraham's father to be Samuel McDaniel, but I cannot confirm that. Jane Ford is listed as buried at Mitchel Cemetary?? Help is appreciated. By the way, I was born in Illinois in 1948, currently reside in Rock Island, am married to Deborah and have three children, including two sons, Logan and Tyler. Also our daughter, Rachel(McDaniel) Hayden is expecting our first grandchild in October.

Discovered your website while searching for pictures of the "Weston Independent" newspaper office. My great-grandparents, David Bird Cook and Dora Elizabeth Conrad Cook, owned this newspaper at one time (perhaps around 1920s to early 1940s). Their son, Clarence David Cook, (my grandfather) more commonly known as C. Donee Cook, worked for the paper in the 30s and early 40s. Hope to have more time to review all of the interesting information on this site in the near future.
