I am seeking information on the Colvin family. They moved to Hacker's Creek about 1880 from Summit Co. Ohio (Akron area). Noble Colvin, one of his brothers and their father, Seymour, were all stoneware potters. I'd appreciate any info on their pottery

I want to thank you for creating this site. It has provided some very useful info and the pics are great.
I am researching my family line, following the Flesher line of my mother. The line from me back is as follows: Carol Goldsmith (Flesher), Earl Eugene Flesher, Walter Earl Flesher, Rufus Clark Flesher, John Flesher, George Adam Flesher, ADAM FLESHER, Henry Weston Fleischer.
I have always felt a strong bond to Virginia and West Virginia for some reason, after researching my family, I guess it's genetic, lol. I currently live in Delaware, but I am engaged to a woman from Sissonville, WV. I will be moving to WV in 2008 and am looking forward to being able to see all this family history first hand.
Anyone wishing to contact me may do so at don0366@aim.com.
Thank you so much again for this wonderful site.
Don Goldsmith

Does anyone have information about a Martha Griffith(b. abt 1804-10) or her husband, James Davisson? They probably left the Hampshire/Hardy Co. area about 1820 and moved to Shelby Co., Indiana?

I am a 4x great granddaughter of James Keith(b. 1762) and married to Mary Ann Alkire. James was the son of Nancy Ann Hacker and James/Emanuel/Mahanas Keith. I am looking for information about James/E./M., whom I believe to be my 5x great grandfather. Can it be proven that he was captured by the Indians? Where was he born, and who were his parents? What happened to him after he returned from captivity? Are there records to document this story?

Hello ------ I'm interested in finding information on
the James S. Wilson family. He married Ann E. Ferrell in
1848. I have found some info. from Upshur Co. Alot of
the Wilsons are from the Doe Hill area in Highland Co.
Some of James S. and Ann's children are: James L., Martha J.,William, Robert J., Floyd, Sarah E., Emedora, Viola,
Charles,Clinton. One source says James S. was born on
July 4, 1825 in Upshur Co. and died Dec. 22, 1863 in Rich-
mond, VA. This source, also, listed James S. parents as--
Samuel Lewis Wilson and Nancy Smallridge Wilson. Do you
have further information as the cause of his death, what
his middle initial (S) stands for, are there more children,
etc.? I do have some info on James L. Wilson (son) born 9/5/1850 and died 1918. married Isabelle Lee 8/11/1871.
James L. Wilson, also, married a second wife, Delilah
(Delia) Cogar. Would you have any info. on the second
marriage? James S. Wilson is a Great Great Grandfather to
my husband and James L. is my husband's Great Grandfather. Thank-you for your time.
Genny Duke.

Your listing of Adam Flesher's and Elizabeth Staat's children on the Adam Flesher page is incorrect. It lists a daughter called "Reuhanna Flesher" and says nothing is known of her. In fact her name was Rebecca, not "Reuhanna", b. 1796, and she married into a Lewis County family called McCord. Her husband was Arthur James McCord and she was my great-great grandmother. They moved to Lee County, Iowa, where Arthur died. After Arthur died Rebecca moved back to West Virginia and died there in 1861. Thanks for the interesting information on Adam Flesher.
