The festival is a rain-or-shine event with the music performed from the front porch of the school.  Attendees are asked to bring their lawn chairs and set them up under the tents provided for shelter on the lawn.

The festival benefits several non-profit organizations which use the former public school as a meeting place.

This festival received promotional funding from the Lewis County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
