Harrison County Court Minutes

HARRISON COUNTY COURT MINUTES  1784-1792

These records are for Harrison County in what was then Virginia but is today West Virgina.

The Harrison County court minutes (1784-1792) were transcribed by Charlotte Fleming, Virginia Mosgrove, Ethel Nielson, Norman Collier, and Barbara Palmer from the onion skin translations created in WPA days (1930s) and now on file at the West Virginia Archives.  We extend a special thanks to Fredrick H. Armstrong, Director at the Archives, for his assistance and to all those who helped transcribe the records.

The onion skins were very hard to transcribe and required the use of magnifying glasses and other technologies.  We have attempted to retain the original spelling as it appeared in the onion skin copies.

These are here for your use and enjoyment.  Although the information in them belongs to the public domain, the format in which they here appear is copyrighted (2001) by HCPD.
